Privacy Policy — Australia
Privacy Act 1988 + APPs · Last updated: 2026-05-07
This page supplements the global Privacy Policy with rights and procedures applicable under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Australian Privacy Principles we apply
- APP 1 — open and transparent management. This policy and the global policy together describe what we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights.
- APP 3 — collection of solicited personal information. We collect only what is reasonably necessary for the IPTV viewer service we provide.
- APP 6 — use or disclosure. We use your data only for the purpose for which it was collected, or for closely-related secondary purposes you would reasonably expect.
- APP 8 — cross-border disclosure. Our infrastructure is in AWS us-east-1 (United States). We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients comply with the APPs (contractual safeguards), but you accept that the recipient may be subject to US law.
- APP 11 — security of personal information. See the global policy "How We Protect It" section.
- APP 7 — direct marketing. If we send you marketing emails (e.g. product updates), you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email or by emailing privacy@joyp.tv. We do not use personal information to facilitate direct marketing by third parties.
- APP 12/13 — access and correction. Use Settings → Data Management → Export JSON for access; email privacy@joyp.tv for correction or deletion requests.
Notifiable data breaches
If we become aware of a breach of personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals, in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Pt IIIC of the Privacy Act).
