DMCA Copyright Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

The Short Version

Joyp is a media player. We don't host, store, cache, or distribute video content. Streams go directly from your content source to your device. Our servers never touch video data. We don't provide playlists or channels. We have zero affiliation with any content distributor.

That said, we take copyright seriously and will act on valid DMCA notices.

Filing a Takedown Notice

If you own a copyright (or are authorized to act on behalf of someone who does) and believe a user is accessing infringing content through Joyp, send a written notice to our designated agent under 17 U.S.C. Section 512. Include:

  1. What copyrighted work is being infringed
  2. Where the infringing material can be found (enough detail for us to identify it)
  3. Your contact info (name, address, phone, email)
  4. A good-faith statement that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner
  5. A statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're authorized to act
  6. Your signature (physical or electronic)

Where to Send It

dmca@joyp.tv with subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice"

What We Can Actually Do

Since we don't host content, our options are limited to:

  • Investigating whether our platform is involved
  • Suspending or terminating accounts of repeat infringers
  • Cooperating with rights holders and law enforcement as required

We can't remove content from third-party servers because we don't control them. If you need content taken down from a specific source, contact that service directly.

Counter-Notification

If you think your account was suspended by mistake, send a counter-notification to dmca@joyp.tv with:

  1. Your name, address, and phone number
  2. What material was removed or disabled
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake
  4. Consent to federal court jurisdiction (your district, or Delaware if outside the US)
  5. Your signature

Repeat Infringers

We will terminate accounts of users determined to be repeat infringers.
